The Poem

I was sent this poem just after I ended a relationship, I don’t know who wrote it but it was so apt to how it was.

Perhaps you need this poem today, I don’t know, I just keep it close for it is a reminder of what I won’t go back to. I now pass it on to you, perhaps it will do the same for you.

If you’re a man reading this then change the he/him to she/her by all means.

He didn’t like the casserole
And he didn’t like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard …
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn’t perk the coffee right
He didn’t like the stew,
I didn’t mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked the shit out of him
Like his mother used to do.
